Performance Testing
Know your numbers before you train around them.
Why Testing Matters
A measured baseline beats a guess.
Training zones based on a guess, an old FTP test, or a formula built for a different athlete waste months of otherwise good training. Testing replaces the guess with a measured baseline — and gives us something concrete to re-test against as fitness changes.
Test Types
Five ways we measure your physiology.
Lactate Testing
A staged effort test measuring blood lactate at increasing intensities — the most direct way to locate your real training zones and threshold.
FTP Testing
Functional Threshold Power, tested properly rather than estimated from a ramp test alone.
VLaMax
A measure of your maximal glycolytic rate — critical for knowing whether to train top-end power or sustained threshold.
VO2 Profiling
Aerobic capacity and efficiency at increasing effort — the ceiling your training is working within.
Performance Profiling
Bringing lactate, power, and VO2 data together into one profile — the basis for the season's training zones.
What You Receive
A report you can actually use.
- A full written report of your results
- Training zones recalculated from your actual data
- A plain-language summary — what the numbers mean and what changes because of them
- A recommended retest timeline, so testing stays a routine check-in rather than a one-off
